SANTOS

Santos is known for its 5.5 km long coastline of beaches and tropical climate, offering advanced tourist infrastructure and a wide range of attractions. The city has the largest port in Latin America and a beautiful restored historic center. Along its beachfront, you’ll find the largest beachfront garden in the world, as recognized by the Guinness Book of Records.

Santos Seawall & Fisherman’s Deck

The Santos Seawall is accompanied by an extensive boardwalk almost 2 km long, running along the entrance of the estuary, which leads to the port. There’s also a sign along the lookout for great photo opportunities.

Santos Aquarium

The Santos Aquarium spans 3,000 m² and houses over 4,000 animals from all over Brazil and even from Patagonia, including penguins. The entire complex is climate-controlled and features sets that replicate the natural habitats of freshwater and saltwater animals.

Benedicto Calixto Art Gallery

Built in 1900, this mansion was renovated and expanded in 1921, with beautiful Art Nouveau detailing. It is the last remaining example of the luxurious seaside mansions that once lined the coast, originally belonging to a coffee baron.

Embare Church

Embare Church, a historical landmark in the Embare neighborhood, was built in the Neo-Gothic style and inaugurated in 1939. Its most striking features are its impressive facade and tall towers.

Monte Serrat Funicular

Monte Serrat, or São Jerônimo Hill, is one of the highest points in the city and offers some of the best views of Santos. The funicular takes visitors from the historic center to the top of the hill, where you can enjoy a panoramic view.

The funicular operates every 30 minutes and costs R$30 for a round trip (prices valid through 2024). It runs Tuesday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, weekends until 7:00 PM, and starts at 10:00 AM on Mondays. At the top, you'll also find the Chapel of Our Lady of Monte Serrat, dating back to 1603.

Vila Belmiro Stadium & Santos Memorial

This famous stadium is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and stays open later on game nights. There are guided tours available where you can visit the locker rooms and the pitch. For more details, check the Santos FC website.

Santos Orchidarium

A major tourist spot and conservation area in Santos, the Orchidarium is located in the western part of the city. Founded in 1945, it houses a vast collection of orchids and other tropical plants, along with a mini zoo and ecological trails.

Open Tuesday to Sunday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Entry costs R$8 per person (prices as of May 2024).

Brazilian Coffee Museum & Coffee Exchange

The Coffee Exchange building is the most beautiful and imposing in the city, with a rich eclectic style completed in 1922. Built during the city's wealthiest period, the building features luxurious finishes, such as Carrara marble and Bohemian crystal chandeliers. A café inside offers the chance to sample a variety of coffees.

The building houses the Brazilian Coffee Museum, showcasing photos, documents, and historical equipment. Open Tuesday to Saturday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Sundays from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Pelé Museum

Located in the historic center of Santos, the Pelé Museum is dedicated to the life and career of the legendary footballer Pelé. Inaugurated in 2014, the museum offers an immersive experience with trophies, photos, videos, and personal objects that tell the story of the King of Football.
